Surgical Tech

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Department Director, Clinical Coordinator and Registered Nurse (RN) on duty, the Surgical Technician/Purchasing Clerk assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients by performance of routine delegated duties according to standards and policies of the hospital and department. Performs scrub duties and assists in maintenance of all supplies and equipment. Provides assistance in emergency procedures as well as elective and scheduled cases. Assists in preparation, transportation, and supervision of patients when necessary. Maintains education in surgical, operating room, and related aspects of nursing care. In addition, the Surgical Tech/Purchasing Clerk will also performs order and inventory duties under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator. Responsible for the daily monitoring of surgical and anesthesia supplies, balancing case volume requirements with available stock on hand. These duties are supportive and complimentary to the practice of nursing. The performance of these tasks is essential to quality patient care. Other duties as assigned.


  • Graduation from an accredited vocation surgical technician program.  
  • Current BLS (CPR) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
  • Basic aseptic knowledge required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written


  • Prefer one year surgical tech experience.
