Market Quality Tech

The primary purpose of the Quality Assurance Pharmacy Technician position is to provide pharmacy-related technical assistance related to medication safety and quality assurance processes. This individual will assist the Utah Market Pharmacies by performing functions such as data collection, analysis, record keeping, and quality assurance activities.

The Market Quality Tech will perform data collection related to medication use quality and quality assurance through processes such as visual observation, clinical data abstraction, review of automated reports, and on-site testing in order to optimize patient and institutional outcomes related to clinical, financial, and legal parameters. Assist in the data entry, record keeping, and report generation related to the quality assurance plan for the Utah Market Pharmacies. Provide technical support related to policy and regulatory body compliance.



Qualifications

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current technician certification and required licensing
  • Previous experience as a hospital pharmacy technician preferred
  • One (1) year experience in a hospital pharmacy or equivalent preferred.  Knowledge of medical terminology, including generic and brand name pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to interact with patients, coworkers and other medical center personnel in person or by telephone, in a pleasant, courteous manner
  • Math aptitude with the ability to perform dosage, concentration and quantity calculations accurately
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
