Chest Pain Coordinator

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Department Director, the Chest Pain Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) assists in nursing care and preparation of patients by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the hospital and department. Administers medication drug under the direction of a qualified physician. Acts as a circulating nurse. Performs and reviews baseline patient assessments. Evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers and medications during CCL procedures. Provides patient care pre, intra, and post procedure. Participates in time-out, and all aspects of procedure as suggested for patient safety by the joint Commission and other accrediting organization. Proficient in the use of emergency equipment. The Coordinator will be responsible for bringing the organization to accreditation as a Chest Pain Center and obtaining Cardiac Certifications as the organization deems necessary. The Coordinator will function as a liaison for cardiac care by maintaining effective lines of communication with all concerned parties. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Utah or Interstate Compact required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire.
  • ACLS certification required within first ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
